Victor Lindelof has already started taking his coaching badges as he enters the final year of his current deal with Manchester United.

After falling down the pecking order, the 29-year-old has struggled for playing time at United in recent years but remains a valued member of the first-team squad under manager Erik ten Hag. Lindelof has featured 28 times for United in all competitions this season and had his current deal extended by an additional year when United triggered a clause in his contract back in January.

Just last week, he insisted he was still happy with his current role at the club but it is understood he could be sold this summer if an appropriate offer comes in for him.

Lindelof is not thinking about retiring from his professional career anytime soon but admits he is already contemplating what he will do when his playing spell comes to an end.

The Sweden international told reporters on international duty: “I have started an education with some friends in the team in England. It is a regular education. Uefa A, the first.

“You never know what will happen in the future. I think it’s better to do it now than after the career so I’ve done it. If something comes up when you stop, you’ve done it.” He added: “I’m not quite there but I hope I have a few years left as a player.”

Lindelof turns 30 in the summer and could look to move clubs in the forthcoming transfer window if he is to get the regular playing time that he desires.
