With two days left of the summer transfer market, Manchester United’s business is nearly at an end, but there could be a final few twists and turns still to come.
The Red Devils have secured the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui so far in what has been a busy window. United have made a conscious act to lower the average age of the squad, with 26-year-old Mazraoui the oldest addition so far.
At least one more signing is expected in the final days of the market, with Manuel Ugarte’s deal ending closer, while it remains a possibility that further arrivals are secured.
However, Manchester World understands there is no interest in pursuing deals for Ben Chilwell and Ivan Toney despite recent media reports.
As for outgoings, Hannibal joined that lengthy list on Wednesday as his departure to Burnley was confirmed. The Tunisian midfielder joined the Clarets for an initial fee of £5.4m with a further £4m in add-ons.
He follows Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Willy Kambwala, Donny van de Beek and Facundo Pellistri as senior departures from United this window.
