Manchester United are said to be likely to offload frozen out star Jadon Sancho this winter, according to reports.

Manchester United look set to offload Jadon Sancho this winter, but the winger’s most obvious exit route looks to be unavailable. Sancho is still training away from the first team at Carrington, with Erik ten Hag refusing to budge.

Ten Hag and Sancho fell out last month when the United boss called the winger out in public, leading to Sancho claiming he was being made ‘the scapegoat’ on social media. Ten Hag demanded an apology, but that apology has not arrived, and we have seen little progress in the situation as a result.

As the January transfer window approaches, it’s starting to feel as though the only solution is for Sancho to leave in the winter, with United also wanting to avoid carrying large wages that are not being put to good use.

According to 90min, Borussia Dortmund are keen to re-sign Sancho on a long-term loan deal, but German football expert Florian Plettenberg believes Dortmund are not an option in January. He has said: “News Jadon #Sancho: He‘s is planning a restart in the winter and intends to leave ManUtd. A move to another European country is more likely than staying in England. A transfer to Barcelona or Dortmund is currently not realistic. Juventus Turin is interested and is considering signing Sancho on loan - confirmed.”

The interest from Juventus will be seen as good news for United, although the absence of interest from Dortmund will be a concern given that would have been the most likely - and perhaps comfortable - move for Sancho. Either way, it looks as though it will be a big challenge for United to find a buyer for their pricey winger in January.

A loan deal looks much likely at this point, and that may not be a bad thing for the Red Devils. If they sell Sancho in January, they will likely have to take a huge loss on their £73million investment, while if Sancho goes elsewhere and impresses on loan for the second half of the season, they will be able to charge more at a later date.
