Two Manchester United players could make their debuts when they face Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Erik ten Hag has named a 20-man squad for the clash, with two youngsters named in the squad who are yet to make their competitive debut for the club.

Academy graduates Harry Amass and Habeeb Ogunneye could each make history if they make it onto the pitch in Istanbul, though neither of the teenage full-backs are expected to start the match against Jose Mourinho's side.

Matthijs de Ligt is expected to partner Lisandro Martinez in central defence, with Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui the leading candidates to start at full-back. United have only named three midfielders in their match day squad, which means Martinez, Dalot or Victor Lindelof could be required to provide cover in midfield as the game goes on.

The midfield shortage in itself leaves United short of cover in defence, with both Amass and Ogunneye likely to be named on the bench at the very least. It would be no surprise if either of them then made their debut in the match as Ten Hag looks to manage the fitness of a number of key players.

18-year-old right-back Ogunneye featured in a number of matchday squads last season without ever getting onto the pitch, while 17-year-old left-back Amass impressed during the club's pre-season tour of the United States but has been overlooked in the current season.

Ten Hag previously said it would take a number of months for Amass to be worthy of a senior debut given that he lacked the physicality required to play in the Premier League. The next academy graduate to represent the United first-team will be the 250th to do so.
