A Manchester United player exit is being finalised today with the Premier League transfer window closed

Manchester United secured two signings in the January transfer window with Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven arriving at Old Trafford. The pair were unveiled to supporters at Old Trafford on Sunday ahead of United’s 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils had hoped to add a strike to Ruben Amorim’s squad but missed out on deals for Mathys Tel and Christopher Nkunku on the final day of the window. Tel has joined Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur while Nkunku opted to remain at Chelsea. The likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony have left Ruben Amorim’s side on loan while a host of youngsters have headed out to gain experience.

There was a transfer twist on deadline day for another United youngster, Ruben Curley. The Red Devils had rejected a loan offer from Stoke City earlier in the day but Football Insider reported late on Monday that Curley was having a medical at the Championship club ahead of a permanent move. He was not the only player aiming to complete a late move.

Malacia exit to be finalised

Tyrell Malacia is also set to leave United as he finalises a loan to PSV Eindhoven. The Premier League window closed at 11pm on Monday but the Eredivisie window remains open until Tuesday evening, as it shuts at 11.59pm. Providing an update on the left-back’s exit, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano said: “PSV Eindhoven are set to fix details of Tyrell Malacia’s loan move from Man United today. Malacia, already in Holland to get the move done.”

Malacia was poised to join Benfica over the weekend and said his goodbyes to his teammates before the switch collapsed. He is now finalising his move to PSV as he has been deemed surplus to requirements after the arrival of Dorgu. United boss Amorim admitted last week that Malacia was struggling to fit into his system at Old Trafford. With Luke Shaw returning to fitness after injury, Malacia is well down the pecking order at Old Trafford and joins a PSV side who are in the Champions League and top of the Eredivisie as they battle Ajax for the title.

United’s full outgoings

All of United’s confirmed departures so far have been loan deals. Marcus Rashford was one of the biggest surprises of the window. Despite signalling his intent to leave United, no club had managed to get a deal over the line. That was until Aston Villa approached with a loan offer which was sealed on Sunday. Antony has headed to Spanish side Real Betis. Joe Hugill has made the move to Carlisle United while Ethan Williams joined Cheltenham Town.

There was an exciting move for Ethan Wheatley who agreed a move to runaway League Two leaders Walsall. Ethan Ennis is now at Doncaster Rovers with Jack Kingdon joining Rochdale while Dan Gore completed a move to Rotherham United. Tranmere Rovers agreed two loans with United as Louis Jackson and Sam Mather head to Merseyside.
