Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund scored as Manchester United came from behind to defeat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League and ease the pressure on under fire manager Erik ten Hag.
United made three changes from the side that drew with Aston Villa last time out, as Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro came in for Harry Maguire, Noussair Mazraoui and Kobbie Mainoo.
Brentford started as the better of the two sides, though it was United who had the first real chance of the game when Mark Flekken fumbled a Lisandro Martinez header and had to scramble back to claw away the ball on his own goal line. Andre Onana produced a fine stop to deny Christian Norgaard from distance while United were limited to speculative efforts from distance that rarely troubled the Brentford backline and a couple of wasted efforts from Alejandro Garnacho.
Brentford took the lead in controversial circumstances just on the stroke of half-time when Ethan Pinnock headed in unmarked from a corner, just moments after referee Sam Barrott had ordered Matthijs de Ligt off the pitch for the third time to receive treatment on a head injury.
United were rallied by the perceived injustice in the build-up to the Brentford goal and hit back within two minutes of the restart as Alejandro Garnacho volleyed in at the back-post after a stunning pass from Marcus Rashford.
The goal lifted the mood around Old Trafford as they tested Flekken in the Brentford net with a number of speculative efforts and grew in confidence as the game went on.
They would complete their comeback just after the hour mark when Rasmus Hojlund delicately lifted the ball over the onrushing Brentford goalkeeper after being set through on goal by an exquisite flicked pass from Bruno Fernandes.
United did well to kill the match as much of a spectacle after the second goal, as Brentford never looked like getting back level once they had gone behind.
Here is how we rated the United players during the match:

9. Marcus Rashford - 8
He didn't get on the scoresheet himself but was a key reason why they did at all. A stunning assist for Garnacho to get back into the game after he had already set him up earlier in the match as well. | AFP via Getty Images Photo: AFP via Getty Images

10. Alejandro Garnacho - 8
Always looked like making something happen and took his goal really well. Lifted the crowd with his directness and desire throughout the afternoon. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

11. Rasmus Hojlund - 8
He used his physicality well and caught the eye with his hold-up play. An exquisite finish to grab a deserved goal after such an impressive individual showing in which he was a nuisance throughout. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

12. Joshua Zirkzee - 5
The game had lost all momentum by the time he came onto the pitch. Fluffed the one bright opening that came his way. | Manchester United via Getty Images Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images
