Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund scored as Manchester United came from behind to defeat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League and ease the pressure on under fire manager Erik ten Hag.
United made three changes from the side that drew with Aston Villa last time out, as Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro came in for Harry Maguire, Noussair Mazraoui and Kobbie Mainoo.
Brentford started as the better of the two sides, though it was United who had the first real chance of the game when Mark Flekken fumbled a Lisandro Martinez header and had to scramble back to claw away the ball on his own goal line. Andre Onana produced a fine stop to deny Christian Norgaard from distance while United were limited to speculative efforts from distance that rarely troubled the Brentford backline and a couple of wasted efforts from Alejandro Garnacho.
Brentford took the lead in controversial circumstances just on the stroke of half-time when Ethan Pinnock headed in unmarked from a corner, just moments after referee Sam Barrott had ordered Matthijs de Ligt off the pitch for the third time to receive treatment on a head injury.
United were rallied by the perceived injustice in the build-up to the Brentford goal and hit back within two minutes of the restart as Alejandro Garnacho volleyed in at the back-post after a stunning pass from Marcus Rashford.
The goal lifted the mood around Old Trafford as they tested Flekken in the Brentford net with a number of speculative efforts and grew in confidence as the game went on.
They would complete their comeback just after the hour mark when Rasmus Hojlund delicately lifted the ball over the onrushing Brentford goalkeeper after being set through on goal by an exquisite flicked pass from Bruno Fernandes.
United did well to kill the match as much of a spectacle after the second goal, as Brentford never looked like getting back level once they had gone behind.
Here is how we rated the United players during the match:

5. Lisandro Martinez - 6
He coped well against Bryan Mbeumo in his makeshift full-back role, though it came at the expense of any real attacking intent. A neat pass in the build-up to the second goal. | AFP via Getty Images Photo: AFP via Getty Images

6. Casemiro - 6
It was still too easy to play through United's midfield but Casemiro was decent enough and had some good moments on the ball. | Manchester United via Getty Images Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images

7. Christian Eriksen - 6
A dreadful miss in the first-half and the goal might have been awarded by VAR despite a soft free-kick being given initially. He helped United get a grip on the game in the second-half. | Getty Images Photo: Getty Images

8. Bruno Fernandes - 7
Worked hard for his team and got stuck in with the defensive work that was required. A few odd decisions in possession though and took needless risks but was vindicated by his world-class assist. | Manchester United via Getty Images Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images
