'There is nothing' - Fabrizio Romano shoots down Manchester United manager link
Erik ten Hag is under fresh pressure to make things work at Man Utd amid speculation surrounding his future.
Fabrizio Romano shot down the suggestion Manchester United have already sounded out Simone Inzaghi about a possible managerial role.
United are set to stick with manager Erik ten Hag ahead of a daunting double header against FC Porto and Aston Villa this week, but could consider his position if results and performances do not significantly improve after a poor start to the new season.
Ten Hag is adamant he will be given the necessary time to make this season a success still, while club sources insist they are not currently reviewing the manager's position after they decided to stick with him in the summer.
Inter Milan boss Inzaghi is one name who has already been linked with a move to Old Trafford should they decide to sack the Dutchman, however, Romano insists there is nothing in the links at this moment in time.
“I’ve seen the stories but guys, no, I can’t confirm there is any list for managers to replace Erik ten Hag at the moment,” Romano told Caught Offside.
“I can guarantee that Man United are not talking to any manager now, because they want to see the team’s performance against Porto and Aston Villa before making any decision. So, all links with all managers… nothing confirmed so far. Also, there is nothing at all in the Inzaghi rumours as he’s fully focused on the project at Inter. I’ve honestly no idea where this is coming from.”
