Man Utd have been handed an injury setback with Leny Yoro set to miss three months of football.

Manchester United have been handed a huge injury blow ahead of the new season with Leny Yoro set for three months on the sidelines.

The club confirmed on Monday night the summer signing had undergone successful surgery on his foot injury and was starting his rehabilitation journey with a view of returning to the pitch as soon as is safe to do so.

It means United will have to rely on the likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof to partner Lisandro Martinez in the opening weeks of the season, after they sold Willy Kambwala to Villarreal and released Raphael Varane at the end of his contract.

If indeed he is out for three months, Yoro could end up missing the opening nine matches of the Premier League season as well as two Carabao Cup fixtures and three Europa League clashes.
