Man Utd are expected to discuss the future of manager Erik ten Hag at a monthly executive committee in London on Tuesday.

The future of Erik ten Hag is likely to be one of the key points of discussion in Manchester United's latest monthly executive committee in London on Tuesday.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer will both be in attendance to discuss the latest developments at the club, though the date has been in the diary for a long time and is not being held in reaction to the club's poor start to the new league season.

Ineos will also be represented by Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean Claude-Blanc at the meeting, while chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth and technical director Jason Wilcox are also expected to be in attendance. There will also be key figures from other areas of the business such as chief operating officer Collette Roche and chief financial officer Roger Bell.

United chiefs will no doubt talk about Ten Hag's position and determine whether or not he deserves more time to turn things around after a tricky start to the new season. After the draw with Aston Villa, the Dutchman insisted he was in constant dialogue with the leadership team and did not fear for his immediate future at the club. Ruud van Nistelrooy is viewed as the ideal short-term appointment, with Thomas Tuchel currently the favourite to take charge permanently should a change be required.

Those discussions will no doubt analyse why the team have struggled in the early stages of the new season and determine whether or not they believe those issues can be rectified. It is also crucial to determine whether or not Ten Hag is the person accountable for the struggles or whether there are wider factors at play.

The Old Trafford rejuvenation project is also likely to be discussed, with the club hoping for a final decision to be made by the end of the calendar year. It is understood United are more likely to build a new 100,000-capacity stadium rather than redevelop the current ground, with early estimates putting the cost of a new state-of-the-art stadium at roughly £2 billion. They could also discuss the club's redevelopment of Carrington after Ratcliffe visited the complex on Monday. United began a £50m project to revamp the training ground during the summer with the vision to create a "world class football facility."

An underlying theme to all of those discussions will be the club's financial situation after they recorded a loss of £113.2m for the previous season. United's new leadership team implemented cost-cutting measures over the summer to help balance the books and are confident of complying with all relevant spending regulations, though another poor performance on the pitch certainly wouldn't help.

It would also be no surprise if United chiefs discussed the outcome of the Rule X Arbitral Tribunal Award after Man City and the Premier League both claimed victories relating to how Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules have been applied. The Premier League called up written statements from United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United as evidence. Brighton & Hove Albion were also called as a witness.
