Ruben Amorim sets deadline for Manchester United appointment
Ruben Amorim has spoken about his future at the latest Sporting press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Sporting head coach Ruben Amorim says a final decision on his future will be communicated after his side face Estrela da Amadora on Friday night.
Manchester United have already reached an agreement to trigger his release clause and appoint him as their new head coach, but remain in talks about an additional payment to waive his 30-day notice period, as well as a compensation package for his coaching staff.
It is understood Amorim is likely to arrive at United during the November international break, meaning he will take charge of the Portuguese club three more times before he moves to Manchester.
However, the 39-year-old insists a final decision has to be made and told his latest press conference that a resolution will be officially communicated after the home match with Estrela.
"It's a negotiation between two clubs, it's never easy,” he told the press. “Even with the clauses, it's never easy, they have to talk, and we'll have clarification after the game, It will be very clear. So it's one more day after the game tomorrow, we'll have a decision made.”
Amorim only took one question from an English journalist during his latest press conference, but dropped a fresh hint about his impending move as he stepped up to leave the room. When asked what he liked about the Premier League in particular, the Sporting head coach replied: “Everything.”
