Ruben Amorim issues Marcus Rashford transfer update one month after last Manchester United appearance

Marcus Rashford was not in the Man Utd squad for their FA Cup victory over Arsenal.

Ruben Amorim admitted we will have to wait and see whether Marcus Rashford ever plays for Manchester United again after he missed the weekend victory over Arsenal.

It is now a month since Rashford last played for the club in their Europa League victory over Viktoria Plzen, having only been named in one of their previous seven matchday squads. The 27-year-old was on the bench for the home defeat to Newcastle last week but has since missed away trips to face both Liverpool and Arsenal.

Rashford’s absence comes amid continued speculation over his future at the club, though he officially missed the trip to Anfield a week ago due to ‘illness.’ No official reason was communicated for his absence against Arsenal.

The academy graduate has not played since he admitted he was ‘ready for a new challenge’ in the wake of their Manchester derby win over Man City, with United open to offers for the forward before deadline day next month.

It is unclear whether any team will be able to match Rashford’s hefty wage demands as well as offer an acceptable fee for his services in the winter window and Amorim is remaining coy on his future at the club.

Asked if Rashford will ever play for the club again, Amorim told reporters after the Arsenal win: “I don’t know. We will see. He’s a player for Manchester United, we will see, he has to work, he has to represent his club, and he loves this club but I have to make choices. I already spoke about how I make choices. Let’s continue, let’s see the next game and I have to make a selection.”
