The 20-year-old netted his second Premier League goal of the season against Tottenham.

Rasmus Hojlund insists his self-belief has remained strong despite constant criticism of his goalscoring exploits for Manchester United.

Hojlund opened the scoring with a clinical finish during United's 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham on Sunday. The 20-year-old picked up a loose ball in the box before rifling the ball into the roof of Guglielmo Vicario's net.

That was Hojlund's second Premier League goal from 16 appearances and despite a more encouraging picture in the Champions League, he has been under increasing scrutiny. But the Danish international has remained confident in his ability.

"[We're] A little bit disappointed," he told Sky Sports. "I think we played a very good game, especially offensively. I think we're starting to click. Everyone is feeling confident but then we concede two not so good goals. We should be a little more focussed. We should be better and they had another chance afterwards too and we spoke about it.

"There's been a lot of focus about me not scoring in the Premier League but I've always believed in myself. It's taken time but it's not like I've not been scoring goals. My team-mates help me everyday. You can always take the confidence with you from the earlier games. It's instinct."

Richarlison equalised for Tottenham on the day but Marcus Rashford put United back ahead before half-time. Another player who has been out of form, the forward played an intricate one-two with Hojlund before curling a lovely effort into the bottom corner.

"I'm happy to give him an assist today," Hojlund added of Rashford. "He's feeding me all the time."

Rodrigo Bentancur levelled again for Spurs within a minute of the second-half, but despite their dominance in possession, the away side were unable to build genuine pressure and it was United who had the best chance to win it.

Scott McTominay should have scored in the final minutes with a free header from Alejandro Garnacho's cross, but the midfielder's effort flew over the crossbar.

A point leaves United seventh in the Premier League, eight points behind Arsenal in fourth having played a game more.
