£15m Manchester United target 'keen' on Premier League move as Erik ten Hag 'resigned' to summer exit

Your round-up of the latest Man Utd stories ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Hopes of Champions League qualification are fading at Manchester United after a run of four Premier League games without a win. Erik ten Hag’s side were somewhat fortunate to take a point at home to Liverpool last weekend but now sit 11 points behind both Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur.

There is still silverware up for grabs, with United in FA Cup semi-final action against Coventry City next weekend. The Reds have a league trip to Bournemouth first and in the meantime, ManchesterWorld has rounded up some of the latest stories to come out of Old Trafford.

Guirassy transfer stance

United are among several clubs thought to have kept tabs on Serhou Guirassy, who looks set to leave Stuttgart this summer. HITC reports that the 28-year-old striker is keen on joining a Premier League club after an excellent campaign in Germany.

Guirassy has an impressive 24 goals in the Bundesliga this season, a tally bettered only by Harry Kane. The Guinea international was on United’s radar in January and will likely be an option again, with Newcastle, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Fulham also named in the report.

A major part of Guirassy’s appeal in January was that he was reportedly available for just £15m due to a release clause. The report suggests that clause will become active again in the summer.

Ten Hag’s future

Some United players reportedly feel that manager Ten Hag is now expecting to be sacked this summer. The Sun reports that Graham Potter is in line to take over at Old Trafford, having snubbed an offer to join Ajax last week.

United have endured a season of regression under Ten Hag, with Champions League qualification unlikely amid consistent performances. New co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is yet to publicly back his current manager and alternative options have been scoped out in recent months.

The report suggests that United players ‘fear’ Ten Hag is already resigned to a future away from Manchester, with a change in body language raising concerns.
