Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has given mixed news on the the injury front ahead Monday’s FA Cup third-round tie against Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

Red Devils captain Harry Maguire remains a doubt for the game at Old Trafford, although his defensive colleague Victor Lindelof is available again after recovering from Covid-19.

"Victor is back in training, since yesterday [Thursday], which is very good news for us," Rangnick told United’s club media ahead of the game. "Harry hasn't been able to train, as yet, and we have to wait and see how this develops, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

"With Harry, there is still a question mark but Victor will definitely be available for the game on Monday."

Paul Pogba is still out with a thigh problem, while want-away Anthony Martial is unlikely to be involved as he continues to be linked with a move away from the club.

However, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay will be available for the game before they serve a one-match ban after receiving a fifth booking of the season during the recent loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
