'Here we go' - Man Utd transfer exit sanctioned by Ruben Amorim 'on one condition'

Man Utd are set to allow one of their most controversial signings to leave the club in the January transfer window.
Antony is set to leave Manchester United and join Real Betis on loan in the January transfer window. The 24-year-old became United's second-most expensive signing when the club paid £82 million to reunite former manager Erik ten Hag with one of his Ajax stars back in 2022.
Antony has started just three matches for United across all competitions so far this season, none of which came in the Premier League. He has only played in 14 games during the current campaign and featured from the bench in their home defeat to Brighton over the weekend.
The Brazilian forward is set for an initial loan exit from Old Trafford as they look to raise interest in a full sale this summer. United would require a minimum fee of £32.52m to avoid a loss under the Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules. It is understood United will subsidise Antony's wages in to seal the loan exit to Real Betis, though the Spanish club will have to pay a financial penalty if the forward does not play enough matches during his spell.
United hope to have the deal agreed upon this week, though Spanish outlet Relevo claims the transfer is still awaiting sanction from head coach Ruben Amorim, who will only allow Antony to leave if he is promised the money will be reinvested in their transfer budget. Upon his arrival at the club, Amorim prioritised the addition of a left wing-back, with Tyrell Malacia also available for transfer this month if they can get a replacement in.
It looks like an announcement is close though with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano issuing his ‘here we go’ phrase to indicate the transfer is effectively complete. Taking to social media on Monday morning, he wrote: “Antony to Real Betis, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties with Man United too. Documents being checked; then time for travel and medical tests. United will let him leave on loan deal with no buy clause. He’ll be formally back to United in June.”
