Manchester United star's agent rules out transfer exit on European deadline day

Man Utd could still sell players in the coming weeks as a number of transfer windows come to an end.

Christian Eriksen’s agent has ruled out a move to former club Ajax on deadline day of the Dutch summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old is only a squad option at Manchester United and has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit throughout the calendar year.

United were initially open to sell Eriksen in the summer, but are unlikely to sanction a sale after the Premier League window closed when they are not in a position to be able to replace him properly. Eriksen has also been linked with a move to Anderlecht, with the Belgian window still open for another four days.

Ajax have been linked with a move for the Danish midfielder for a number of weeks, but it seems like a return to Amsterdam won't be happening anytime soon after an update from agent on Dutch deadline day.

As quoted by Voetbal International, Eriksen's agent Martin Schoots said: "We can end those speculations." The outlet also claims the midfielder will remain at United until at least the January window amid continued rumours about his future.

Eriksen featured from the bench as United lost 3-0 to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, but was overlooked in favour of the more defensive Toby Collyer when Erik ten Hag made a half-time change in midfield.

United refreshed their midfield on deadline day of the Premier League window when they signed both Manuel Ugarte and Sekou Kone, while Scott McTominay was sold to Napoli.
