Manchester United star missing from FC Porto squad with 'minor issue' despite travelling to Portugal
Man Utd have confirmed their starting line up for the Europa League tie against FC Porto.
Kobbie Mainoo has not been included in the Manchester United matchday squad for their Europa League tie against FC Porto, despite travelling to Portugal for the match.
The 19-year-old trained with the United squad at Carrington on Wednesday morning and was named in the 23-man travelling squad for the match, but has missed out on a place in the final squad list.
United sources say the game has come too soon for Mainoo, who suffered a 'minor issue' in their defeat to Tottenham last weekend. The midfielder was taken off just before half-time with what looked like a hamstring problem and was replaced by Mason Mount.
Harry Maguire and Alejandro Garnacho have both been named on the bench for the match despite their own fitness concerns, with academy graduates Toby Collyer and Dan Gore both also included.
Gore made his senior United debut 13 months ago, but only made one appearance on loan at League One side Port Vale before he picked up an injury. The FA Youth Cup-winning midfielder then dislocated his shoulder during a personal training session and required surgery at the beginning of June, which meant he was unable to travel to the United States for the first-team tour.
Erik ten Hag has reverted back to the midfield that did him so well during his debut season at the club, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen deployed behind club captain Bruno Fernandes.
United XI vs Porto: Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot, Casemiro, Eriksen, Amad, Fernandes, Rashford, Hojlund.
Subs: Bayindir, Heaton, Evans, Lindelof, Maguire, Collyer, Gore, Ugrate, Antony, Garnacho, Zirkzee.
