Manchester United set to make new coaching appointment - he's already crossed paths with Jason Wilcox

Manchester United are set to appoint David Horseman as their new assistant manager at Under-21 level.
The 41-year-old will work alongside U-21 manager Travis Binnion after his former assistant, David Hughes, left the club to become the new head coach of Newport County.

Hide AdHorseman worked as a first-team coach for Bristol Rovers last season and took caretaker charge of the club after Matt Taylor was sacked in December. He remained at the Memorial Stadium under new manager Inigo Calderon but left the club following their relegation from League One at the start of May.
Before his move to Bristol Rovers, Horseman got his first taste of senior management when he worked at Forest Green Rovers. He won just four matches, and he left the club five points from safety when he departed by mutual consent in December 2023.
Horseman also enjoyed four years with Southampton, where he worked as the head coach of their reserve side and also held a brief spell as a first-team coach under former manager Ruben Selles. He also crossed paths with United director of football Jason Wilcox, who has been tasked with seeing significant changes in the academy.
The new United assistant coach spent his longest time with Bristol City, where he gained over a decade of experience in various academy management and coaching roles. He also spent almost three years at Watford as lead professional development phase coach for their Under-23 side.
