The Liverpool forward died alongside his brother, Andre Silva, when the vehicle they were in left the road due to a tyre blowout while overtaking. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the municipality of Cernadilla in the province of Zamora.
Liverpool Football Club released a statement to confirm the 'unimaginable loss' which has shocked the entire football world, while Manchester United sent a message of support on social media. Tributes have flooded in for the Portugal international, with Ronaldo one of many to share his heartbreak over the tragic news.

Manchester United stars pay their respect
