Manchester United reveal Leny Yoro shirt number ahead of debut
Man Utd have confirmed Leny Yoro’s shirt number and he could make his debut today.
Manchester United have confirmed Leny Yoro will wear the No.15 shirt number in the forthcoming season.
The French defender is in line to make his first United appearance when they face Rangers in their second pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon and will be wearing the number worn by a club legend.
Yoro had the same squad number at Lille and will hope to have more success at United than the previous five occupants of the shirt. Sergio Reguilon was No.15 during his half a season with the club, while Marcel Sabitzer also wore it during his loan. It has also been worn by Andreas Pereira (twice), Adnan Januzaj and Daley Blind since club great Nemanja Vidic left ten years ago.
The 18-year-old trained with his United teammates for the first time on Friday and is likely to be named on the bench when they face Rangers, with a potential first appearance as a substitute.
Jadon Sancho has also been included in the 26-man squad, a week after he was welcomed back to training under Erik ten Hag. Sancho held a positive meeting with Ten Hag earlier in the month and both parties have agreed to draw a line under their disagreement and move on.
It was not confirmed whether or not Sancho has apologised for the social media post that resulted in him being frozen out of the first-team before he resumed pre-season training with the rest of the squad.
