Manchester United squad for Rangers friendly includes Leny Yoro and Jadon Sancho but six ruled out

Leny Yoro has been named in the Manchester United squad for their pre-season friendly fixture against Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

United are back in action when they face the Scottish giants at Murrayfield and it could be the first time Yoro takes to the pitch for the club. The French defender is in line to makes his debut after he completed his transfer from Lille earlier in the week.

Yoro trained with his United teammates for the first time on Friday and is likely to be named on the bench when they face Rangers, with a potential first appearance as a substitute.

Jadon Sancho has also been included in the 26-man squad, a week after he was welcomed back to training under Erik ten Hag. Sancho held a positive meeting with Ten Hag earlier in the month and both parties have agreed to draw a line under their disagreement and move on.

It was not confirmed whether or not Sancho has apologised for the social media post that resulted in him being frozen out of the first-team before he resumed pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

Amad and Andre Onana are both also in contention to make their first appearances of pre-season, but another six senior players have been ruled out.

Marcus Rashford, Victor Lindelof and Antony miss out with 'small niggles' while Harry Maguire is not deemed match fit after his recent injury rehabilitation. Tyrell Malacia is continuing his fitness programme at Carrington meanwhile and Scott McTominay is not fit after only returning to training earlier in the week.
