Andreas Pereira has said that he would like to leave Manchester United this summer and sign permanently for Flamengo.
The midfielder, who came through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, spent the 2022/23 season on loan at the Brazilian club, with the short-term deal set to expire today (Thursday).

However, Pereira clearly has plans to remain in Brazil, as he explained in an interview with Brazilian reporter Raisa Simplicio.
“I don’t own my [future], Manchester United decides these things,” Pereira said, via a Simplico tweet. “I would like to stay, but it’s not in my hands. I’ll see what’s best for me and the club."
“I’m going back to Brazil, talking to people, my family, with [Flamengo’s vice president] Marcos Braz and we’ll see,” he added.

Pereira has made 75 senior appearances for the Red Devils, most of those coming during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first 18 months in charge at Old Trafford.
But the midfielder has never been able to hold down a starting spot with United and has been sent out on loan in each of the last two summers - to Lazio and then Flamengo - while Pereira has also played for Valencia and Granada in previous loan moves.
He has, evidently, settled in Brazil and has played in all but one of Flamengo’s league games this season, while the Sun recently reportedly United were yet to make a decision on Pereira’s future following the bid from Fulham.
