Manchester United star could be making final start for club as Rangers line up announced

The confirmed Man Utd team news and line up vs Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Manchester United have made five changes to their starting line up to face Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

United need to bounce back from their dire weekend display against Brighton and Ruben Amorim has opted to freshen his side up with changes in every area of the pitch.

Altay Bayindir makes his first European start for the club in place of Andre Onana, while Lisandro Martinez returns in central defence instead of Harry Maguire. Amorim has named a new midfield duo with Christian Erisken alongside Toby Collyer and Alejandro Garnacho coming into the attack instead of Amad Diallo, who replaces Noussair Mazraoui at wing-back.

The decision to give Garnacho a rare start comes at a time when he is attracting serious transfer interest from Chelsea in the January transfer window. United are not actively looking to sell the Argentine this month but they accept that his sale could significantly help their tight financial situation given that he is an academy graduate and any fee would be recognised as pure profit.

It could even be Garnacho’s final start for the club, while Antony and Tyrell Malacia have both also been named on the bench ahead of expected loan exits this month. Marcus Rashford has not been included in the squad after he returned to training in midweek.

United XI vs Rangers: Bayindir, Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez; Amad, Collyer, Eriksen, Dalot, Garnacho, Fernandes (c), Zirkzee. Subs: Onana, Heaton, Maguire, Mazraoui, Malacia, Casemiro, Mainoo, Ugarte, Antony, Hojlund
