Manchester United ‘leading’ Ronald Araujo transfer offers amid fresh goalkeeper links

The wait is almost over, with Manchester United set to return to action in the Premier League on Saturday.

The March international break is now behind us, and the business end of the season begins this weekend.

United face Leicester City at 5.30pm on Saturday, and there is little margin for error with Ralf Rangnick’s men falling behind in the top four race.

But as the Red Devils prepare for their Old Trafford clash, we have taken a look at all the latest transfer rumours surrounding the club.

Kohn links

United are continuing to scour the market for goalkeepers with Dean Henderson having one foot out of the door at Old Trafford.

According to Blue Sport via The Sun, the Red Devils are now eyeing a move for RB Salzburg stopper Philipp Kohn as they look to add a back-up option for David De Gea between the sticks.

Kohn is still only 23 years of age, and he has been at Salzburg since 2019, making 13 league appearances after spending last season out on loan.

He has recently established himself as Salzburg’s number one, also turning out in the Champions League.

Araujo race intensifying

United have been heavily linked with a move for Barcelona centre-back Ronald Araujo ahead of the summer.

The Uruguayan is said to be rejecting contact proposals from the Blaugrana with his current deal up in 2023.

In the latest report from Diario AS, Barca have spoken to Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger about signing on a free transfer in case they have to sell Araujo, and the Blues have, in turn, expressed an interest in the Uruguayan.

Crucially, though, it’s also mentioned that United have a proposal in place for Araujo worth around €8m (£6.7m) per year, which is roughly double what Barca are offering.

Spence interest

The Red Devils are the latest club to be credited with an interest in Middlesbrough star Djed Spence.

The talented young full-back has spent this season on loan with Nottingham Forest, but a number of top clubs have been linked.

According to The Mirror, United are now showing an interest in Spence, who is said to be available for less than £15million.
