Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of Bruno Fernandes ahead of their Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Erik ten Hag revealed the Portuguese midfielder experienced an issue following last weekend's 1-1 draw with Burnley and while there is a doubt over his possible involvement, you can rarely rule him out of a match altogether.

Fernandes has never missed a match through injury and during his time at the club has not taken part in just 12 out of a possible 242 matches: four of those were because of suspension, four because he was rested altogether in dead-rubbers, three in which he was an unused substitute and one because of illness. That's an availability of 97.94% since he signed from Sporting Lisbon.

Scott McTominay is also in a fitness fight to be involved after he suffered a knee injury in the Burnley draw, while Marcus Rashford is not expected to be involved. There was some good news with Jonny Evans set to be named in the matchday squad but Anthony Martial is not yet ready after he made a partial return to team training on Thursday.

"Scott didn't train so far this week but I expect him back in training on Saturday and we have to see if he's 100% available or for a part of the game," he told reporters. "After the game (vs Burnley), we had an issue with Bruno. He is a doubt for Monday, we all know Bruno, never rule him out for any game. He will do his best to be available. Jonny Evans returned today for team training. Tomorrow we are off and then two days until the game. Martial was partly in team training.

Pushed for an update on Rashford, he added: "I can't tell. So it was last week, after Coventry, his issue hasn't healed so far."
