Jadon Sancho left Man Utd on loan in the January transfer window after he was frozen out by manager Erik ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag says he is happy to see Jadon Sancho shining while on loan at Borussia Dortmund but refused to say whether or not he still has a future at Manchester United.

The 24-year-old stole the show for loan side Borussia Dortmund as they defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Wednesday night.

It raised the obvious question of why we haven't seen similar performances from Sancho in a United shirt, with plenty of revisionism about his time at Old Trafford. Sancho was frozen out by Ten Hag last summer following their public falling out, in which the forward claimed he had been made a 'scapegoat' after the United manager questioned his commitment to training and performance levels.

The former Manchester City youngster was offered a career lifeline when he rejoined another of his former sides on loan in January and there has been a clear improvement in his performance levels since.

Sancho's success in Germany has once again raised questions about his long-term United future and speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Ten Hag was quizzed on his situation: “So, let’s say this: yesterday he played very good,” he said.

“He is a very good player. Yesterday, he showed why Manchester United bought him and he showed he represents a high value for Manchester United. Which is good. I am happy, happy for Jadon, with his performance yesterday. We will see what is going to happen in the future.”
