Amad, Mainoo, Ugarte - Manchester United injury news and return dates after 12 players miss Tottenham loss

Manchester United are faced with an injury crisis in the wake of their 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League at the weekend. Ruben Amorim was without 12 senior players for their trip to North London, after a horrendous week in which they lost six players from the squad that defeated Leicester in the FA Cup fourth round.

Lisandro Martinez could be ruled out for the remainder of the calendar year after he underwent successful surgery on a knee injury, while Amad Diallo is expected to miss the rest of the season after he sustained ankle ligament damage. Leny Yoro and Christian Eriksen both missed the Tottenham defeat due to illness, with Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer all suffering setbacks during the week.

It only adds to United’s injury crisis at a time when several senior players are currently sidelined. Here is all the latest injury news and expected return dates:

Leny Yoro - February 22 vs Everton (A)

Yoro missed the weekend defeat to Tottenham due to illness but hopes to be available when they travel to face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.

Christian Eriksen - February 22 vs Everton (A)

Eriksen won’t be risked after his latest illness but the hope is he should be in contention when United go to Goodison Park at the weekend.

Altay Bayindir - February 22 vs Everton (A)

Bayindir has missed the last two matches with an unspecified injury issue but should be back in the squad to face Everton on Saturday lunchtime.

Manuel Ugarte - 22 February vs Everton (A)

Ugarte is another fresh injury blow to United and missed the weekend defeat to Tottenham. There is hope he could be back to face Everton.

Toby Collyer - 22 February vs Everton (A)

Collyer also missed the weekend defeat to Tottenham but there has not been any update on his situation and it is unclear when he will be available again.

Luke Shaw - February 26 vs Ipswich Town (H)

Shaw recently returned to training and should be in contention to feature again over the coming weeks. United won't want to rush him back after so many setbacks.

Jonny Evans - February 26 vs Ipswich Town (H)

Evans has been sidelined with a calf injury and it is unclear when he will be available for selection again. A return against Everton seems the earliest possibility.

Mason Mount - 9 March vs Arsenal (H)

Mount is expected to return before the end of the season and Amorim is hopeful he could even be back at some stage next month. The home match against Arsenal seems a realistic target.

Kobbie Mainoo - 1 April vs Nottingham Forest (A)

Mainoo is expected to miss around six few weeks of action after he suffered a training injury earlier in the week. It means he could be sidelined until after the March international break.

Tom Heaton - Unknown

Heaton is currently sidelined with an unspecified injury and it remains to be seen when he will return to action as third-choice goalkeeper.

Amad Diallo - Unknown

Amad suffered ankle ligament damage in training last week and Amorim expects the forward to miss the remainder of the season.

Lisandro Martinez - Unknown

Martinez has been ruled out for the remainder of the season but the true timescale of his setback is unknown. He could be out anywhere from six months to an entire year.
