Ralf Rangnick’s men have slipped and stumbled throughout the campaign, but they are in sixth place, or at least for now.
United need to hope West Ham don’t win their game in hand to remain in sixth place, with the Hammers three points behind and boasting a superior goal difference.
The Red Devils are not in action themselves until their final game on May 22, when they face Crystal Palace.
They will all-but certainly have to win to secure Europa League football, whether it is in their hands or not.
In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest United transfer news and rumours:
United have received a boost in their hopes of landing West Ham star Declan Rice this summer, according to reports.
The defensive midfielder has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but he has also been tipped to return to Chelsea.
According to The Mirror, the Blues have now turned attention away from the England international, instead eyeing PSV star Ibrahim Sangare.
That could give United a clear - or at least clearer - path to Rice this summer.
New Osimhen bid
United are said to have already made an offer to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
According to Area Napoli, the Red Devils have seen their opening offer rejected for the forward but they have a new plan to pull off a deal.
The report claims United will now look to offer Anthony Martial as part of the deal in a bid to sign Osimhen.
Martial is not expected to return to United after spending the second half of this season with Sevilla.
Osimhen is not the only Napoli star being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
According to Area Napoli, the Red Devils are also considering a move for midfielder Kalidou Koulibaly, who is being heavily linked with a move away from Serie A this season.
The centre-back has recently been linked with Chelsea, but according to the report, the player’s agent, Fali Ramdani, is already in contact with United over a potential transfer this summer.
One to keep an eye on.
