Manchester United handed fresh injury scare ahead of Ipswich Town fixture as 10 players could miss match

The latest Man Utd injury and team news ahead of the clash with Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

Manchester United have been handed a fresh injury scare ahead of their upcoming clash with Ipswich Town in the Premier League. United are back in action when they host Ipswich in midweek and Ruben Amorim could be without a key defender for the match amid his ongoing injury crisis.

Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo have both been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while Kobbie Mainoo is not expected back until after the March international break. Luke Shaw and Mason Mount have both been long-term injury absentees, while Amorim does not have a specific date in mind for the return of Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans. Of all the injured players, Toby Collyer is considered the closest to a return.

It means United could potentially be without 10 senior players for their upcoming home match after they suffered another injury scare in the weekend draw with Everton.

Manchester United are reportedly sweating on the fitness of defender Noussair Mazraoui ahead of their game against Ipswich Town on Wednesday night. The Moroccan took a knock to his knee in the opening exchanges of the weekend draw with Everton, but was able to carry on after he received treatment on the pitch.

Mazraoui continued until the 70th minute of the match before he complained of discomfort in his right knee and asked to be substituted. Ruben Amorim initially planned to replace Matthijs de Ligt with Leny Yoro but was forced to change his plans and take the former Bayern Munich star off instead.

ESPN say Mazraoui later received treatment in the United dressing room after the game and will be assessed again on Monday ahead of the clash with Ipswich. The 27-year-old has been a key player for United this season and has made 38 appearances across all competitions. He has started all but two matches since Amorim arrived, and only Andre Onana, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have played more minutes in the Premier League for United this season.
