Manchester United 'expected' to make an offer for £50million midfielder in 'coming days'
Manchester United are picking up the pace with their summer transfer business.
After finalising their move for Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, Manchester United are shifting through the gears to get more exciting deals over the line. It’s set to be a fruitful summer for the Red Devils, who are in talks over numerous incomings and outgoings.

The latest on the rumour mill is that United are expected to announce the arrival of Leny Yoro at any point now, having beaten rivals Liverpool to his signature. The highly sought-after defender has been on a number of club radars this year but after a reported £50 million agreement with Lille, Yoro has completed his medical in Manchester and is set to become Erik ten Hag’s next signing.
United’s transfer business is not going to stop there either, as reports in France claim that an offer for a new midfielder could be set down soon as well. According to L’Equipe (via Inside Futebol), Paris Saint-Germain are ‘expecting’ United to table a bid for Manuel Ugarte ‘in the coming days’.
After Zirkzee and Yoro, the Red Devils are expected to move focus onto their engine room by signing their first midfielder of the window. Casemiro has been a name linked with a summer exit for some time now, as part of the club’s overhaul ready for a new era under Sir Jim Ratcliffe. United are reportedly struggling to find a buyer for the Brazilian but if they are successful, they will lose their only natural defensive midfielder.
Ugarte has been on the United radar for some time now and the club have been in discussion with both PSG and the player’s representatives over a potential move this window. Despite the ongoing talks, the Reds are yet to submit an official offer for the 23-year-old, whose contract in the French capital runs until 2028.
The report does claim though that Ugarte ‘would be keen’ on making the switch to Old Trafford if both clubs can reach an agreement in the coming weeks.
The midfielder started 21 Ligue 1 fixtures for PSG last season but was left on the bench on eight occasions. However, he played a key part in his country’s charge to third place in this year’s Copa América tournament. Uruguay beat Brazil to reach the last four, where they were denied a shot at the final at the hands of Colombia. However, La Celeste were able to come away with the bronze spot after a thrilling 2-2 draw with Canada ended in Ugarte and co triumphing on penalties.
Reporter Ben Jacobs recently posted on social media that both United and Bayern Munich are keen on signing Ugarte but PSG have set a €60 million (£50m) asking price that no one has managed to meet yet.
