Manchester United are ‘monitoring’ Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze and are interested in a move for the player, according to a recent report from FootballTransfers. However, before a sale can take pace, the report claims United will need to move on one of their existing players. Eze will not come cheap - the England international has a minimum fee release clause of £68 million in his contract at Selhurst Park, which will become active next year. United have spent with profligacy so far in 2024 and they must be more conservative and careful with their financial outgoings in the immediate future. However, a lucrative sale could help to raise the funds for a move. The two players being touted with an exit are Marcus Rashford and captain Bruno Fernandes, both of whom have played below their lofty standards this season. Losing either of them would be a blow - especially Fernandes - but Eze could adequately fill the gaps left behind by either of them. An adaptable attacking player who provides an abundance of creativity moving forwards, Eze can play as a central midfielder, a left winger and a number ten. While he is best at taking on players with his magnetic dribbling ability, he is also an astute passer with a wide range of vision.
Former Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba’s contract termination at Juventus ‘proceeding as expected’
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is planning to leave Juventus, as his contract with the Old Lady is in the process of being terminated. As things stand, the process is ‘proceeding as expected’.
This is according to a post on X (formerly Twitter) from Fabrizio Romano, who wrote: “Negotiations between Paul Pogba and Juve board to terminate the contract are proceeding as expected. Pogba will not play for Juventus again and will become a free agent for 2025.”

Nevertheless, Pogba has been seeking an exit from Juventus to give his career a fresh start. His existing deal is set to last until June 2026, but he will become available on a free transfer if his contract is terminated successfully.
The Frenchman is United’s club record signing following his move to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2019. His £89m move was then a world-record fee and was the highest by an English club until 2021.
