Manchester United are said to be interested in bringing in Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann to replace Dean Henderson, according to reports.

The Red Devils had previously expressed interest in the Austrian under Ralf Rangnick and it is believed that he has remained on their radar with Henderson on his way out.

The 25-year-old looks set to join Nottingham Forest after eleven years with the club, while Lee Grant has left Old Trafford as a free agent.

With David De Gea and Tom Heaton the only remaining goalkeepers on the books, Bachmann is thought to be one of a few options United are considering to replace the outgoing duo.

The 27-year-old joined Watford in 2017 and has spent much of his time at Vicarage Road as second fiddle, making only 12 appearances in the Premier League last season.

With the Hornets likely to install Maduka Okoye as their number one following Ben Foster’s departure, Bachmann is reportedly open to a move to Old Trafford and The Athletic have predicted the Red Devils would have to cough up around £2-4 million to snap him up.

The potential of having only Bachmann and Heaton means that they will be relying on De Gea keeping up his form and avoiding any injuries, with neither option half as good as Henderson.
