Ruben Amorim has confirmed that second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir will start for Manchester United against Arsenal this weekend. United travel to North London in the third round of the FA Cup and are set to make at least one change to the side that drew with Liverpool last weekend.
Amorim used the Turkish goalkeeper for his only Carabao Cup match in charge of the club, when United lost 4-3 away to Tottenham last month. Bayindir was heavily criticised for his poor individual performance and only scored 4/10 in our official player ratings from the match.

When asked if he could give Bayindir another chance in a cup competition this weekend, Amorim told reporters at his pre-match press conference: "I don't rotate because I want to rotate. I'm trying to find the best solutions to win the game. I put the guys in who are more fresh to cope with the demands of the game. The goalkeeper position is different, so it's a good question. Altay will play."
Asked on squad rotation for the remainder of the season, he added: "I think we rotated more in that part when we were trying to find out what kind of players we have. Players have returned from injury and now we are rotating less. Now we have had time to train a little bit more, I expect my team to understand a little bit better, the game. I don't rotate because I want to rotate; I am not different from other coaches."
Bayindir has only made four competitive United appearances since he joined from Fenerbahce two years ago, with all of those coming in cup matches. He made his debut in the FA Cup fourth round against Newport County a year ago and also featured in three rounds of the Carabao Cup this season. His only clean sheet came in the 7-0 home win over Barnsley.
