Manchester United's Mason Greenwood looks to have found a new club ahead of the deadline.

Greenwood is on his way out of Old Trafford after United decided to move on from him following an internal investigation into the forward’s personal conduct. The investigation was sparked by charges of attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assault that were eventually dropped.

The player’s contract is expected to be cancelled by mutual agreement at some stage, though, given his personal history, Greenwood was always going to struggle to find a new club. Premier League clubs are said to have stayed clear of Greenwood this summer, while Saudi Arabian clubs are yet to make an approach.

According to multiple reports, Greenwood’s only and best option will be to join Turkish club Besiktas, who are said to be keen on a move. At Besiktas, Greenwood would be linking up with former Liverpool star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who joined the Turkish club on a free transfer this summer.

The Sun say there were some Premier League clubs who looked into the idea of signing Greenwood, but they ultimately decided against it. United were greeted with outrage after it emerged they may keep Greenwood, and any English club that signs the forward would likely receive the same treatment.

The 21-year-old will now likely have to rebuild his career abroad, and in the fiery atmospheres of Turkey. Besiktas are currently involved in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
