West Ham United manager David Moyes has confirmed two of his starting XI from the weekend win over Nottingham Forest will not be available for Wednesday’s FA Cup tie with Manchester United.

The Irons put in perhaps their best display of the season so far when they beat Steve Cooper’s men 4-0 on Saturday, but Lukasz Fabianski and Vladimír Coufal were both replaced with injuries and will therefore not be available for the midweek fifth-round clash at Old Trafford.

“We’ve got a squad available and ready to go, but we’ve got a few injuries,” Moyes said in his pre-match press conference. “Lukasz Fabianski has got a fractured cheekbone and eye socket. We’ve not got everything decided in terms of whether it will be operated on, or if we allow it to heal itself, but that’s the update on Lukasz.

“Vladimír Coufal has got a heel injury which will keep him out,” Moyes added. “I think that’s really the two injuries we had from the weekend and, apart from that, the squad is just about what it was.”

Another change from the win over Forest will see Danny Ings come out of the side. The striker, who netted his first West Ham goals at the weekend, is cup-tied having already represented Aston Villa in this season’s competition. With Gianluca Scamacca also out through injury, it means Michail Antonio will likely start against United.

But in better news for the London club, Zurt Zouma and Maxwell Cornet are back in training following recent injuries and might be able to return to the squad on Wednesday.

As for Wednesday’s hosts, the Red Devils could be without Luke Shaw and Fred for the FA Cup encounter, with Erik ten Hag confirming ahead of the game that both have picked up knocks since last weekend’s Carabao Cup final victory over Newcastle United.

The Dutchman also said in Tuesday’s press conference that Anthony Martial will not be back in time as he continues his recuperation from a hip issue. Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek remain long-term absentees.

Doubts: Zouma, Cornet (West Ham); Shaw, Fred (United)

Ruled out: Fabiański, Coufal, Ings, Scamacca (West Ham); Eriksen, Van de Beek, Martial (United)
