Manchester United made an explosive start to their WSL campaign as they secured a last gasp 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park last Sunday.

Rachel Daly had put Villa ahead in the 78 minute but a late strike from Lucia Garcia and Rachel Williams's late header beyond Daphne van Domselaar in the 92nd minute completed a remarkable late comeback against the Midlands outfit.

However, attention now turns to an all important title clash between two WSL giants as Marc Skinner welcomes Jonas Eidevall's Arsenal side - and former United favourite Alessia Russo.

United enjoyed back to back wins over the North London outfit last year, with Russo grabbing the winner in both games, but Eidevall's side will be determined to right the wrongs of last weekend that saw them lose 1-0 to Liverpool on opening day.

Earlier in the week, Skinner insisted his focus was not on the return of his former striker though he conceded that he understood the narrative would centre around the returning Lionesses striker.

"I know that she returns and while Alessia was here, me and her had a really good relationship. She returns home and, of course, it's a narrative that we all want to spin but from my perspective, when we look at the forward that is now in place, she has different abilities to Alessia so...look Alessia is coming home and I absolutely understand the question but she's not our player anymore" commented Skinner on the player's return to LSV.
