Manchester United will be eager to bounce back from their 3-1 loss at home to Brighton and Hove Albion as quickly as possible. The Red Devils have made a slow start to the new Premier League season.

They are back in action on Wednesday night with an away trip to Germany to face Bayern Munich. In the meantime, here is a look at some of the latest news and rumours regarding the club...

Midfielder remains on radar

Barcelona and Holland midfielder Frenkie de Jong remains on United’s radar ahead of the January transfer window. He has been heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the past but nothing has materialised yet.

As per a report by Goal, Erik ten Hag remains ‘interested’ in luring the Dutchman over to England in the near future to bolster his options in the middle of the park. The 26-year-old moved to Camp Nou back in 2019 from Ajax and has since made 188 appearances in all competitions for his current club to date, chipping in with 16 goals.

Striker wanted move

According to the Daily Mail, Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane ‘wanted’ to join United over the summer from Tottenham Hotspur. The England star was seen as the Red Devils’ ‘top target’ in the last transfer window but the club weren’t prepared to fork out the money needed to land him and he ended up moving to the Bundesliga instead when it became clear that his time in London was coming to an end.

He will be taking on the team he was reportedly eager to link up with in his next outing as he looks to get his hands on a trophy this term. Kane has made a decent start to life with his new club and has scored four goals in five games.
