'Deal done' - Man Utd & Arsenal-linked striker agrees €25 million deadline day transfer

Manchester United are keen to add a striker to their squad before Monday’s 11pm transfer deadline but as things stand business is unlikely. United reportedly had a loan offer rejected for wantaway Bayern Munich man Mathys Tel while Christopher Nkunku is another option.
"We are trying everything to improve the team without doing mistakes of the past, and trying to balance the urgency of the moment," United head coach Ruben Amorim said after Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace. "So, we know all of the aspects of our club in the moment, but we are trying everything."

Seagulls move for Stefan Tzimas
Stefan Tzimas of FC Nurnberg has attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs including United and Arsenal. Liverpool had also expressed an interest as reports from Tuttomercato in January claimed United, Arsenal and a number of clubs had “asked for information” on the player amid interest in a potential move.
However, the 19-year-old had already completed a medical with Brighton ahead of deadline day according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg. Tzimas spent the first half of the season on loan at Nurnberg from Greek club PAOK Salonika. The German club have now signed him for €18 million before selling him for an immediate €7 million profit after a €25 million fee plus add-ons was agreed with Brighton.
The Seagulls confirmed the deal on Monday morning as a club statement read: “We are delighted to confirm the signing of Stefanos Tzimas from Bundesliga 2 side FC Nuremburg, for undisclosed terms and subject to international clearance. The Greece under-21 international has signed a contract that runs until June 2030, but he will remain on loan with FC Nuremburg in the second half of the season.

Reaction to Tzimas move
Tzimas will not join Brighton until the summer as he has been sent back on loan to Nurnberg. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler said: "Stefanos is an exceptional young talent, an out-and-out centre-forward with a natural ability to score goals, and we are absolutely delighted to have signed him. He will join up with us in the summer, ahead of next season, but we are really looking forward to working with him, and feel he has a very exciting future ahead."
Technical director David Weir added: "He will spend the second half of the season with Nuremburg, who have provided him with an excellent opportunity this season, to continue his development in the Bundesliga 2. We will keep a close eye on his progress, and wish him the very best for the second half of the season with Nuremburg."
