Manchester United have been told to make a move on a potential Scott McTominay replacement.

Former Manchester United star Louis Saha is in favour of a certain Old Trafford transfer this summer.

It’s an important summer for Erik ten Hag and United, who will be hoping to close the gap between themselves and Manchester City next season. Ten Hag managed significant progress during his first season in charge, and he will be expected to maintain an upward trajectory, especially with signifcant investment this summer.

United have already splashed out £60million on former Chelsea star Mason Mount, and they are expected to spend big on both a goalkeeper and a striker before the summer is out.

They could also sign a midfielder this summer, especially if Scott McTominay is moved on, and Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat has been heavily linked. The Morocco World Cup star is one of the most in-demand players in his position this summer, and United have been backed to make a move as they look to increase depth and quality in the middle of the park.

As links continue to surface, former United striker Saha has been speaking about a possible move for Amrabat, giving the potential transfer his approval.

“Amrabat is a player that I really like and he’s got a great intensity level that I don’t believe is matched,” the ex-striker told Betfred.

“It would be exciting to see him at Manchester United and he would improve the overall balance of the squad. We need legs, we need energy and we need strength that can help us upset teams. Mason Mount is another player that can provide the team with more energy as he’s one of those footballers that runs eleven kilometres a game.”

United will have to play the patient game if they are to sign Amrabat, likely having to sell players first as they prioritise the goalkeeper and striker position. That means the Red Devils may be relying on the Moroccan being available late in the window.
