The relationship between Erik ten Hag and Jadon Sancho at Manchester United is reportedly unlikely to be repaired anytime soon. The attacker’s commitment in training has been questioned and he has been frozen out by his boss.

According to inews, a return to the fold is a ‘distant dream’ for the winger. He is understood to be unwilling to apologise to his manager and an exit in January could be on the cards.

United signed the England international back in 2021 from Borussia Dortmund. He has since made 82 appearances in all competitions to date, chipping in with 12 goals, seven of which came last term.

An ‘insider’ has said, as per inews: “He is a great player, that doesn’t go away, so he will have offers in January if we are where we are now – with first-team football at United a distant dream.

“But clubs need to see something that would encourage them to bring him to their club. Talent alone won’t get him a move to another top team.

“We are aware of how this all looks for him, and the longer United leave him in the cold, the lower his appeal drops.”

United favourite Roy Keane has also had his say on the situation: “I’d be embarrassed, I’d be ashamed of my life if the manager ever came up to me, or even spoke through the media because you get over that stuff.

“People say you can’t say stuff about the players through the media, yes you can, you can send messages out to people.”

Sancho still has a few years left on his contract at Old Trafford. However, his long-term future with the Premier League giants is up in the air.
