Man Utd ‘ready’ to swoop for transfer target as interest in midfielder grows

Defender targeted

United are ‘ready’ to place themselves in a position to launch a transfer move for AS Monaco defender Vanderson, according to a report by French news outlet RMC Sport. The 21-year-old, who hails from Brazil, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and has caught the eye over in Ligue 1 in this campaign.

He started his career at Gremio in his native country and broke into their first-team as a youngster before moving over to Europe in January 2022. The right-back has since become a key player at Monaco and has made 48 appearances for them in all competitions, chipping in with a couple of goals too.

Midfielder wanted

United have a big decision to make regarding Scott McTominay’s future at Old Trafford this summer amid reported interest from top flight rivals Newcastle United. Football Insider claim the Toon Army are ‘keen’ to land him in the next transfer window and are ‘pushing ahead’ their plans to try and lure him to the North East.

The 26-year-old has been with the Red Devils for his whole career to date and has played over 200 games. He has also been in decent form for Scotland recently.
