Man Utd predicted XI vs Crystal Palace with injury concerns at right-back & up front - gallery
We think Erik ten Hag will make three changes from Saturday’s win over Manchester City.
Erik ten Hag may be forced into at least one change from his starting line-up on Saturday, when Manchester United take on Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
The Red Devils beat Manchester City 2-1 at the weekend to extend their winning run to eight matches and will move second in the table with a win at Selhurst Park. They may, however, have to manage without Anthony Martial after he was replaced at half-time in the derby due to injury.
Ten Hag also said Wout Weghorst may not be ready to immediately start following his recent loan move from Burnley, meaning Marcus Rashford could have to play up front for the Red Devils if neither Martial nor Weghorst are ready from the off.
Moving Rashford inside would also mean United start with alternative attackers in the wide areas, with Antony and Alejandro Garnacho the obvious replacements. Ten Hag may also opt to play with a different midfield than the relatively defensive approach he applied against City when Casemiro, Fred and Christian Eriksen all started.
United’s other injury concern comes at right-back with Diogo Dalot missing Saturday’s game due to a knock. It’s unclear whether he’ll be ready in time for the journey to Selhurst Park, although Aaron Wan-Bissaka will start on the right flank if Dalot is not available.
Meanwhile, on the opposite wing, Ten Hag could reinstate Luke Shaw at left-back after recently playing the 28-year-old at the heart of defence. Should Shaw revert to his natural position, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof or Lisandro Martinez may partner Raphael Varane at centre-back.
Here’s how we think United will line-up against Palace…

1. GK: David De Gea
Only a last-minute injury would stop the Spaniard starting.

2. RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Dalot looks unlikely to return in time, so it should be Wan-Bissaka in defence.

3. CB: Raphael Varane
United’s most stable centre-back selection, the former Real Madrid is likely to remain at the heart of defence.

4. CB: Lisandro Martinez
Started just once for United since the World Cup, but we’re tipping him to return on Wednesday.
