Man Utd predicted XI to face Arsenal with five changes expected from side that lost to Liverpool

Ralf Rangnick is short of options in midfield for Manchester United, but can call upon the services of three returning Red Devils.

Manchester United head to Arsenal without several key players in their crucial top-four clash.

The sides are separated by three points ahead of the game, although the Gunners do have a game in hand on United.

Ralf Rangnick confirmed in Friday’s pre-match press conference that Luke Shaw, Fred and Edinson Cavani will not be available for the trip to the Emirates, while the injury Paul Pogba sustained at Anfield in the week could keep him out for the rest of the season, meaning he may have played his final game for the club.

But in better news, Raphael Varane, Scott McTominay and Cristiano Ronaldo are back for the match.

“Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play,” the German told reporters on Friday. “He has been training with us and will train today, so he will be available for the game tomorrow.

“The same is true with Rapha Varane and, obviously, Cristiano Ronaldo is available again; he has been training with us. All the others are injured,” he added.

Saturday’s game is sandwiched between the matches against Liverpool and Chelsea, and Rangnick would ideally look to rotate for the meeting with Mikel Arteta’s men.

However, the Red Devils are struggling for options at present and named youngsters Hannibal and Alejandro Garnacho on the bench at Anfield.

There may also be a slight concern about Harry Maguire given the disturbing events this week that resulted in police being called to his home in response to a bomb threat.

But how will all this impact Rangnick’s team selection? Here’s how we think he’ll set up this weekend…
