Paul Pogba is unlikely to feature for Manchester United again this season, revealed Ralf Rangnick on Friday, meaning he may have played his last game for the club.

The Frenchman picked up an injury in the midweek humiliation at Liverpool, which forced him to be replaced after just 10 minutes.

Rangnick has since revealed the problem could keep him out for the remainder of the season.

"With Paul, it seems, after the scan we did yesterday or the day before yesterday, it’s very unlikely that he will play until the end of the season again,” the German explained in Friday’s pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Arsenal.

"The doctor told me that it will take four weeks, minimum, for him to recover and, since the last game is at the end of May, I don’t think it’s very likely that he will be able to play again."

Pogba’s contract at Old Trafford is set to expire this summer, which means he could leave the club for free at the end of the season and, therefore, may have donned the red jersey for the final time.

As for the rest of the team, there was good news surrounding the fitness of Scott McTominay and Raphael Varane, with Rangnick confirming both will be back for Saturday’s trip to the Emirates.

The United interim manager also indicated that Cristiano Ronaldo should be available again after missing the midweek loss to Liverpool, following the tragic loss of his newborn son.

"Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play. He has been training with us and will train today, so he will be available for the game tomorrow,” said Rangnick.

The same is true with Rapha Varane and, obviously, Cristiano Ronaldo is available again; he has been training with us. All the others are injured.”

That means United will still be without Fred for Saturday’s crucial clash in the race for the top four. Meanwhile, Luke Shaw is still out following recent surgery to his leg, while a calf problem prevents Edinson Cavani from playing.

Harry Maguire is expected to play despite enduring another difficult week, with police called to his home on Thursday following a bomb threat.
