It’s since been reported by Marca that Bellingham is Madrid’s ‘primary target’ and that he would prefer a move to the Spanish capital above the Premier League’s preeminent clubs.

Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs claims the teenager has not yet picked Real and is ‘keeping his options open’.

He added in a Twitter thread that ‘Liverpool and Manchester City are still very much involved in an open race’ while stating Erling Haaland has encouraged Bellingham to join him at City. Jacobs reports United and Chelsea ‘are not currently frontrunners’ in the battle to sign the England international.

Meanwhile, as per The Telegraph, Chelsea’s owners have ‘attempted to make inroads into the Bellingham camp’ as they are currently playing ‘catch up’ in the transfer saga.

They add that Chelsea believe Liverpool and Madrid are in the driving seat at present but the Blues think they can still convince Bellingham to move to Stamford Bridge, while there remains a ‘fear’ that City will soon turn their attention to the player.
