United progressed to the last eight on Wednesday night after beating West Ham United on Wednesday. The Red Devils were trailing 1-0 to David Moyes’ men in the latter stages but scored three goals in 15 minutes to win 3-1. United have also eliminated Everton and Reading in the earlier rounds of this year’s competition.

As for City, Pep Guardiola’s side beat Bristol City 3-0 on Tuesday to make it to the quarter-finals, with Phil Foden netting a brace before Kevin De Bruyne rounded things off in the latter stages at Ashton Gate. City have faced tough draws in the FA Cup this season and have already dumped Chelsea and Arsenal out in the third and fourth rounds.

Elsewhere, Brighton & Hove Albion will host Grimsby Town, who beat Southampton in the fifth round on Wednesday night. Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers have been paired together after they beat Premier League opposition in the last-16.

The quarter-final games will be played over the weekend of 18/19 March, meaning United’s trip to Brighton and City’s home game against West Ham will both be rearranged for a later date in the season.
