Man Utd & Man City FA Cup injury list: Five ruled out as four set to return - gallery
Erik ten Hag has more injury concerns heading into the final than Pep Guardiola.
Manchester United and Manchester City will both hope to win a second trophy of the campaign when they face off at Wembley in the FA Cup final this Saturday.
The Red Devils have already collected silverware at the home of football this season when they beat Newcastle United 2-0 in February’s Carabao Cup final, while City wrapped up the Premier League with relative comfort last month.
Pep Guardiola’s men are also aiming to win the treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League for just the second time in the history of English football. The only side to previously achieve that feat, of course, were Alex Ferguson’s United in 1999, meaning Ten Hag’s men are playing for the chance to preserve a unique piece of history this weekend.
In the build-up to the game, both managers have held press conferences this week and were asked for the latest team news. For Ten Hag, he gave an update on Antony and Anthony Martial, while there are three other players who have been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
City don’t quite have the same headaches as they hunt down the elusive treble, although several players sat out last weekend’s loss to Brentford with minor knocks. Speaking on Friday, Guardiola confirmed that all four players who were absent at the Gtech Community Stadium will be back in time for this weekend’s trip to the capital.
Ahead of the final, here’s the full injury round-up from both United and City…

1. Lisandro Martinez- Out
Suffered a broken metatarsal in April and hasn’t played since.

2. Donny van de Beek- Out
Has returned to training following a long-term knee injury but won’t be back in time for the final.

3. Marcel Sabitzer- Out
Out for the remainder of the campaign and could have played his last game for United.

4. Antony- Out
Ten Hag all but confirmed the winger won’t be available due to the injury he picked up against Chelsea.
