Manchester United turn attention back to Europe this week after late drama at Stamford Bridge. Erik ten Hag’s men fought until the end in West London and got their reward. Casemiro headed home an equaliser deep into stoppage time to secure a point. United are a point behind Chelsea in fifth, having played the same number of games, and a point behind Newcastle in fourth having played a game less.

Attention now turns to the Europa League, with a Sheriff in town on Thursday, and United need to win of they want to keep their hopes of winning the group alive.

In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford:

Arsenal and Martinez

Arsenal tried to beat United to the signing of Lisandro Martinez, according to former Red Devil Edwin van der Sar. United snapped Martinez up from Ajax in the summer, and the Argentine has gone on to impress despite a wobbly start to life in the Premier League.

“It was our opinion they (Martinez and Antony) should stay for another year,” Ajax chief van der Sar told The Times. “We gave a firm ‘no’ to Arsenal when they came first for Lisandro; we fought hard to keep him.”

Ronaldo decision

United will not look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo should they offload him in January.

That’s according to The Athletic, the Red Devils won’t delve into the market to replace Ronaldo should he leave, with the Portuguese star being heavily linked with an exit given his fallout with Ten Hag and the club.

The latest reports claim United may even be willing to offload Ronaldo for free if they cannot find a buyer, and with that in mind, it should be no surprise the Red Devils are not putting aside cash to spend on a replacement. And given Ronaldo is not playing regularly, it’s not as if Ten Hag will have a hole he will need to fill should the superstar depart.
