Manchester United will now give up centre stage to the World Cup for more than a month as the break takes hold.

Erik ten Hag’s men were determined to go into the break on the back of a win, and they did manage is. Alejandro Garnacho scored in stoppage time to secure a 2-1 win over Fulham on the weekend, and the Red Devils are now within three points of the top four with a game in hand. There is plenty of work for United to do, but there are positive signs, even with the whole Cristiano Ronaldo saga.

Here we round up all the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Old Trafford.

Ronaldo latest

Ten Hag is said to have made it clear he does not want Ronaldo back at Old Trafford after the World Cup, and indeed after his explosive interview.

According to Ekrem Konur, Ten Hag has made his decision and the board agree that the team will be better off without the Portuguese superstar. With that in mind, Jorge Mendes is sure to be shopping around for potential buyers of his client.

The tweet claims there is interest from Turkey, in particular, with Fenerbahce and Galatasaray expressing an interest ahead of the winter window.

Mbappe claims

United were reported to be interested in Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe. According to the Mirror, United are sounding out targets to replace Ronaldo, and while improbable as reported by Manchester World, they have Mbappe as an option.

Mbappe signed a new mega contract with PSG during the summer, deciding to reject a move to Real Madrid, but there have been claims he is unhappy since.

It would cost United an untold amount of money to sign the striker, both in terms of a transfer fee and wages, and PSG are very unlikely to sanction an exit for their star striker having fought so hard to keep him during the summer.
